Applied Automation & Engineering (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates www.appliedauto.com.au. We are an engineering business providing CNC machining, 3D printing, laser services, design, fabrication, automation and product development.
This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, why we collect it, and how we handle it.
We collect personal information only when you choose to submit an enquiry through our Contact Us form. That form collects:
Required
– Your name
– Your email address
– Your contact number
– A project name
– A description of the project or job you would like us to quote on
Optional
– Project type, CNC job type and project scale
– Any files you attach (for example drawings, CAD models, images, PDFs or video)
We do not operate a mailing list, newsletter or user account system. We do not ask you to create a login. We do not collect payment details through this website.
Our web server, like most, automatically records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used for security and to keep the site running.
We collect this information for one purpose: to understand your enquiry, prepare a quote, and contact you about it.
Specifically we use it to:
– assess the work you are asking about
– prepare and send you a quotation
– contact you by phone or email to clarify requirements
– deliver the goods or services if you engage us
– keep a record of the enquiry and any resulting job
We need the required fields because we cannot prepare a meaningful quote without knowing who you are, how to reach you, and what the job involves.
We do not use your details for marketing, add you to any mailing list, sell or rent your information, or share it with third parties for their own purposes.
We understand that drawings, CAD files and project descriptions are often commercially sensitive. We treat files and project information you send us as confidential. They are used only to assess and carry out the work you have asked about, and are accessible only to
the staff and contractors who need them for that purpose.
If you have specific confidentiality requirements or would like a non-disclosure agreement in place before sending files, contact us before submitting your enquiry and we will arrange one.
We share your information only where it is necessary to respond to your enquiry or run our business:
– Our staff and contractors, where they are involved in quoting or performing the work.
– Our website host and email provider, who store the data on our behalf. Our website is hosted with VentraIP Australia ia.
– Google, through the reCAPTCHA service we use on our contact form to prevent automated spam. reCAPTCHA collects technion from your device for this purpose, and is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
– Suppliers or subcontractors, but only where a job requires it and only the information needed for that purpose.
– Where required by law, such as in response to a court order or lawful request from a government agency.
When you submit an enquiry, the details you provide are emailed to us and a record of the enquiry is stored securely in our website’s administration area, which is accessible only to authorised staff.
Any files you attach are delivered to us by email. The copy held on our web server is automatically deleted within approximately one hour of your submission.
We take reasonable steps to protect this information, including:
– serving the website over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection
– restricting access to the website’s administration area to authorised personnel
– keeping the website software and plugins up to date
– automatically removing uploaded files from our web server shortly after they are received
– limiting access to enquiry information to those who need it
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If you are sending highly sensitive material, please contact us to arrange a more secure transfer method.
Files you attach to an enquiry are removed from our web server automatically, generally within an hour of submission. After that point they exist only within our email system and, where a job proceeds, our internal project records.
The written details of your enquiry — your name, contact details and project description — are retained in our website records and email so that we can refer back to previous quotes and correspondence. Records relating to work we have carried out are kept in line with our record-keeping and tax obligations.
You can ask us to delete your enquiry and attachments at any time — see below.
Our website uses cookies that are necessary for the site to function correctly, and in connection with the reCAPTCHA spam protection on our contact form. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as
expected if you do.
You can ask us to:
– tell you what personal information we hold about you
– correct anything that is wrong or out of date
– delete your enquiry and any files you sent us
